As a follow-up of last week’s post, I’m presenting some ideas on gifts that are a tad more expensive. These luxury items are all great quality so they’ll always be treasured by the lucky person you give them to!
Macadamia Natural Oil ‘Intro Kit’ – $99.00 (US) + Shipping
I know that Moroccan Oil is the big thing for hair right now, but in the USA this is the brand giving it a run for its money. Macadamia Natural Oil products contain a blend of macadamia nut oil and argan seed oil, and is completely paraben and sulfate-free, and the whole line is certified cruelty-free. And they smell AMAZING! It doesn’t matter what kind of hair you/the gift recipient have – you need this stuff in your life stat! Personally, I have been using the Deep Repair Masque and the Moisturising Rinse Conditioner and have noticed a lot of improvement in the texture and shine of my hair.
The ‘Intro Kit’ is available online at the Macadamia Natural Oil website, but can also be found locally at salons and shops such as Price Attack, the Shampoo Shop and WASP.
Hourglass Aura Sheer Cheek Stain – $65
Stains are a very ‘it’ product right now, because they’re lightweight and long lasting. Hourglass’s version is water-based meaning it will be great for people with problem skin. This is a very thoughtful gift for a loved one who hasn’t got time to reapply their makeup throughout the day. The colour applies sheer but can be built up in intensity depending on your personal preference. The packaging is also extremely sleek. It comes in three shades: Flush (berry pink), Petal (peachy pink), Rouge (soft plum).
Hourglass products are available from Mecca Cosmetica.
Philosophy ‘Hope In A Jar’ Moisturiser – $70
Anyone who has tried ‘Hope In A Jar’ will tell you how amazing it is. If you have a loved one who has trouble with their skin (and who doesn’t have some grumble in that area?) then this is a wonderful gift to give them. ‘Hope In A Jar’ is an oil-free, lightweight, lightly exfoliating and hydrating moisturiser that was developed by dermatologists to improve and protect skin at any age. It is definitely expensive for a moisturiser, but considering that it is used twice daily, the price per use is considerably less than a bunch of lipsticks, eyeshadows or nail polishes.
Philosophy products are available from Mecca Cosmetica.
Chanel ‘Rouge Coco’ Lipstick – $50
Do I really need to explain why any woman would love this as a Christmas present? The amazing packaging and iconic double C’s would be enough, but I can also tell you that this line of lipsticks are great quality. In my opinion, Chanel is tied with Yves Saint Laurent for the best lipstick brand on the market. Chanel gets my vote here because of its iconic status. The Rouge Coco line contains all sorts of colours – nudes, pinks, reds, plums…you might have more difficulty picking just one colour! The shades are long lasting and satiny. My personal favourites include: Mademoiselle, Beige Felin, Gabrielle, Rivoli, Orchidee, & Legende.
Chanel products are available at selected Myer and David Jones department stores.
I hope you enjoyed this short series on Christmas gift ideas! May your shopping be easy and your wallet not cry!
