So if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you’d associate autumn (or fall if you’re in the US) with the glorious furnace of reds, oranges, burgundies and chartreuse from the leaves turning. Down Under, we have to make do with the increasingly chilly nights and the occasional day of rain.
The beautiful colours of autumn leaves inspired this makeup look. I am a little annoyed that the khaki green colour I used doesn’t show up that well in the photographs, but it is much more distinct in life.
Step 3: Flip over the brush and apply a khaki green shadow to the remaining lid space. Gently go over the area where the two colours meet with both sides of your brush to seamlessly blend the colours.
Step 5: Soften the harsh crease line using a soft pinky-plum colour (I actually used a blush – MAC Breath of Plum). Use a fluffy blending brush and blend upwards to the brow bone. Don’t blend downwards – we don’t want to muddy the colours on the lid. Use your favourite highlight colour to highlight under the brow bone and in the inner tear duct area.
The natural tones of this look make it very day-appropriate. Wear it to the office or out for lunch with some nude lipgloss like I did in the picture above. If you want to make a smooth transition to night wear, add another coat of black mascara and some bright red matte lipstick. This look works really well both ways!
Side note: I did this tutorial 20 mins after getting out of the shower, so my hair is still damp and unbrushed. Its not usually this naughty.
