This is a look I’ve really been loving recently. It’s quick and easy, and totally wearable during the day. Besides, if I limited wearing a smokey eye to ‘going out’, I’d hardly ever get to wear it!

The key to the daytime smokey eye is simplicity. Don’t wear this on the day you wear your most outrageous outfit or your new hot pink lipgloss (save that for the evening). In fact, the best accessory to daytime smokey eyes is a nice clean complexion.

Getting this look is very simple: use a creamy liner (try Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Eye Pencil or Rimmel Kajal Eye Pencil) to make a thin line as close to your lashline as possible, then use a cotton bud/eyeliner brush/foamtip applicator to smudge it out for subtle smokey effect. Make sure you put some primer on first to prevent your eyeliner from turning into a hot mess by lunchtime. Line your waterline to intensify the effect. Curl your lashes and apply a very black mascara.

You can mix it up by using a coloured eyeliner instead of black! Make sure the rest of your face is nude though!

I’m wearing this look so often at the moment – its a no-brainer early in the morning! Try it out and hopefully you’ll love it too.
